1996 BMW 535i...

240 kph from the Cheksolvikia border outside of Prague to Munich on the A93. Kept it above 230 kph for over 90 minutes, with peaks up to 240 which was about the max that it could do. August 1997, hardly any traffic on the autobahn, most everybody in Europe was on holiday. Only passed by a Ferrari coupe.

I leased the car during my 4 year assignment in Munich.

It would have been a Buick GN. Don't know that it was the fastest stock car that I've ever driven but no question the quickest.

Mark.

Fastest 1/4 mile: My 87 Buick Grand National

Fastest top end: 04 Mazda RX8 topped out at 164 on speedo (gps 168)
(factory set up ride with both brother-in-laws inside)

LOL's! Everyone was sucking cotton out of the seats!
She's faster now with the turbo added. Has the power to overcome drag co-efficient.

The Grand National was my favorite though.

Hi,
The two fastest factory cars I've owned were
67 corvette w/427 435 4sped, & a 68 RR Hemi 4sped The RR I bought at Hillside Plymouth in Springfield Pa, The car was at a dealer in NJ. & they had someone drive it from NJ to Hillside, I'm sure the cars tong was hanging out by the time he got to Hillside. And maybe I shouldn't call the vette factory, because when I bought it, it was a sb, I scored the BB from an insurance co, a wrecked 68 vette & put it in the 67.

Fastest I have driven and fastest I have gone are two different things...
Driven would be my dad's '05 Legacy GT. It's big, but not too heavy, 250 hp and awd. It really pulls, but you never get wheelspin.

The fastest I've ever gone is 103 in my 1997 Chevy Lumina. Impressive, once you account for its considerable heft and its 3.1L's anemic 160 horses.

The craziest I've personally heard of was a friend of mine in a Saab he calls Thor, doing somewhere between 100 and 120 in a 25 and passing a cop going the other way. No ticket

'Paul

the Fastest

I got an Olds Toronado ,with big block once that the guy said was fast, boy he was not kidding. I ran out of road once and almost twisted off the needle at over 145 mph and had pedal to go. The needle was bouncing off the bottom of the gauge,And it road like a dream. For foreign, I had a Mercedes 450 slc that did over 140 guaranteed by factory, I had it almost that fast but also ran out of road. But the crazy headspinning ride was in an areobatics plane where we pulled 3 gs rolls, with out oxygen, I almost passed out and had a head/neck ache for 2 weeks after. NO **** .ACE

Fastest I've driven on the street is My friends 02 Sprayed Viper, but even faster is his twin turbo 05 Viper it's all Hennessy & Heffner parts.

My fastest cars & I still have them all are

1. 02 Firebird formula went 13.1 spinning completly stock, went 12.4 with headers, good intake setup, suspension & a tune. Then I got it to the 9.60's with a built motor & a buttload of spray.

2. Quickest out the hole on the street is my GMC Syclone, she doesn't top out well, but out of the hole, she's a beast.

3. My 87 Buick Turbo-T, I don't know what it ran stock, but it runs 10.50's now.

It would have to be a 1970 Buick GSX 4 speed that we bought and sold within 1 week. Next is a Jeep grand cherokee SRT suprisingly quick. I've rode in faster cars than this but were talking about what you have driven.

Hey Man, Sounds sooo Cool. My buddy is Wis has a ford set up exactly like the one you talk about...I thought it was him until I saw Ca. His has about 14 top eliminator stickers in the window from the 60s and 70s. He gave me a high speed pass in it once on a side street, too Cool, how we ever kept out of jail, only GOD knows. He and I used to scare the hell out of each other all the time. I had a 57 Chev X drag car that I ran on the street with 4500 1969 dollars invested in the 327engine an driveline and a lot of wrench time. It scared even him with the big block. Put away a few mopar guys too.
