It has been mentioned in this post many times but to my recollection it was my buddies 85 ford Mustang 5.0 5 speed. BUT the fastest car I ever drove was a Nascar Whelen modified . I know, its not a factory car but I couldn't help myself. So Cool.

1962 Chevrolet Biscayne with factory 2x4 409.

Red with red interior, and positrac.

Would spin the rear tires through all four gears, past 100MPH.

'71 383 Challenger. SCARY fast....and wandered lane to lane also. Pistol grip, funky interior, fast as stink...what could have been better. I miss that car more than any other that passed through these white knuckles.
Thanks for the memory lane ride gang.

A 1967 Chrysler Newport

This Car Was Awsom! It Had A 383 Police Interceptor Engine And It Flew. They Don't Make Anything Like That Anymore!

Been mentioned quite a few times before me but the quickest/fastest completely factory stock car I've ever driven was a C6 Z06. Simply amazing cars for the money.

Plese don't ban me for this but I recently drove an all electric Tesla sports car. Advertized as 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. Tech said the top speed is over 200 but it is governed at 125.

Thought I would never say I'd give up the noise/rumbling of a hot rod but after a 20 minute test ride I was convinced (almost). Weird, no noise, no shifting, slam the pedal and instant max torque. Rated HP was almost 300. That was/is one sweet car.

Now the batteries cost about $10K and the car goes for about $130K. Approx 300 mile range. I only have to save $120K more.

'75 Nova SS 350 w/3 on the floor

Bought it new and then installed headers and Q-jet. Don't know how fast 'cause the speedometer needle would go off the end of the speedo and then briefly appear in the brake warning light area only to dissappear again . Don't know how quick it was either since I never raced it . Drove it for 8 yrs ands 117,000 mi , and shortly after I sold it I heard it was the quickest car in our little county . Population 4,000 . Thanks for the memory .

I've never had anything that was stock. As soon as I got my hands on it I had to modify somethin. Last 3 rd Gen Camaro I built would hunt Porches though.

Fastest was my son's 2002 Corvette roadster.
Second fastest is the 2004 GTO I just bought, what a rocket.
LS engines rock!

When I get it finished, my 67 El Camino will be much faster than either of these.
Big blocks rule!
