Quickest off the line was a Viper that a guy let me drive. He only let me hit 3rd gear before I scared him though, and he made me pull over.
Wimps shouldn't be allowed to buy fast cars. That thing is sick. Highest top end was a somewhat modified 1994 Z28 a friend of mine owned - we timed a 21 mile run (by highway signs) in under 8 minutes. Something like 160 mph average for the trip. Skamming on the brakes to hit curves at 100 or so is definitely an interesting experience. Fastest stock bike was a Suzuki Hyabusa. Owned a GSXR1000, which was close, but didn't have the low end torque or top end HP to quite keep up. Handled a hell of a lot better though. |

My '85, 5.0, 5spd Mustanhg LX. Blew away a IROC on RT. 80 one night. Left him like he was chained to a boulder! I had my LX up to 115 mph, I estimate, the speedo stopped at 85 at the 3 o'clock position. The needle was about the 6 o'clock position and pulling like a frieght train! This was late at night and I was waaay too tired to be driving at these speeds. The best car I ever owned. I would get over 25 mpg at 85 mph with the air on!

2001 viper acr
fastest factory car I ever drove was a 2001 viper acr addition. A girlfriend of mines dad had one borrowed from one of his friends. He said go ahead get behind the wheel I was like yea right you gotte be kiddin. So I got behind the wheel and he got in the passenger seat beer in hand. I dont know if he would have let me had he been sober. Thats thing was unbeleivable for being a factory car. The ACR package was a 10,000 dollar factory option. it seems like for that much though it would have had better traction. I could punch it in third gear and it would just sling sideways with ease. It was crazy
oh yea... me and my friend test drove 2004 mustang cobra. fast but not as fast as the viper |

Fastest car I've driven was my boss' supercharged Viper R/T-10 with a bunch of Hennesey and Heffner Performance parts on it.
Fastest factory car I've driven was my friend's 2003 Corvette Z06 (which I'd prefer over the Viper). Fastest car I've gone for a ride in was my friend's tube-frame '27 Ford roadster with a 440 and a 5-something rear end. It was running low 10's at the time. Fastest car I should have gotten a ride in was a 1967 Lamborghini Miura S that belonged to a guy I knew. Although the very first car I ever drove was my friend's 12-second modified '91 Corvette. I was only 16 at the time, and fortunately it was an automatic. It still scared the crap out of me, so I pretty much idled it around the block. Scariest at speed? A ride in a friend's pro-street '66 Impala. |

64 galaxy lightweight with 427 side oiler.
It was my uncles I didn't get to drive it. I was only 12. It came from the factory with roll bar and aluminum racing seats. One sweet car. Scariest car I have ever driven is my dad's 75 CJ 5. 304AMC huge cam single plane manifold 850 double pumper. Can't get it to go straight at 25 how you going to do it at 70. Way to short of wheelbase. now it has Edelbroc high rise and Edelbroc performer carb. Still dangerous. |

I drove it's twin in 1983 except with 17,000 miles on it and this one was only a 3.73 Posi. My buddy had just bought it and let me take it for a test drive. I was headed out of town to run it through so I grannied it through 3rd and eased it into 4th at 45 mph before really laying into it just as I hit the city limits. The second the Holley opened up it was sideways on dry clean pavement in a heartbeat !!! This one was dark green with a black vinyl roof and black bench interior. NO power options and just an AM radio. Yeah baby!!! Fastest though ? Not sure but probably my best friend's 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage I, 4 speed and 4.56 posi. It had traction bars on it and air bags so it launched straight and hard. Brutal is the only way to describe it. The dealer installed 4.56, ladder bars and air bags were the only mods. Quote:
