What Gage for Floor?

i am starting to fab my floor. i have some channel to run across the underside of the floor. for the main pass. area i have 4 channels of 18gage run across spaced every 17". i am wondering if i can use 18gage for the floor or should i go heavier? i was going to get the basic shape and then have it beaded for strength. any ideas?

thanks,

JB
