What Gear Lube For My Rebuilt Muncie
Hey guys,
I am very excited I just got back my newly rebuilt M-20 transmission for my 69 Camaro and it looks great. Completely new internals, case bead blasted, the works. The trans looks brand new. I won't be installing it for a month or so until the weather warms up. Here is my question. I have always used 80W-90 gear lube and have never had a problem. Do you guys have a suggestions that may be better? I have heard a fair amount about synthetics both pros and cons and a fair amount about the GM syncromesh lube which is a mix of both. Or should I just stick with good old 80W-90? What do you guys think? Jim |
I really so no reason why you can't just switch to the full synthetic lube and pretty much be done with it.
Almost everything tested with syn. fluids has been noted as running quieter, cooler, more efficiently, smoother, etc. |
Royal purple
I would go with Royal Purple synthetic gear lube.
