what gears do i have??

i pulled the cover and counted the pinion teeth and turned up 15 and the ring was 41 what i got please

the rear end came out of a 1/2 ton truck does that sound right ?? i am putting it in a 82 c10 with a 454

late 70's early 80's during the govt push for economy and smog control, Chevy did some weird things to cars and trucks.. Among this was the high gear ratios, as 4spd over drive automatics were not around then, and the high gear ratios dropped the cruise RPM.. re count them tho. 3.08's were pretty common in 2wd's, but that would be 37/12. 2.73's were built tho

i checked and had my dad count them also it was 15 and 41 aslong as i make around 600lbs torque with my motor and use my t350 i should be fine right? were or what brand is a good cluster so i can make it posi trac

600 ft/lbs out of a big block behind a TH-350 will equal broken parts.. at least stock or anything that is of unknown condition

If your going to change the center section to a positraction ( Eaton BTW ) why not change the gear ratio? a 3.42 would pull pretty good
