Anything from 3.36 to 4.56, depending on what option was chosen. Could have been open or posi, also, on all gear selections.

Only thing that can be certin is that it came with a drop out rear, which Chevy used from '58-'64... I think the 6's got the lower ratios and the 8's got higher ratio's but not 100% sure.

348 with an auto trans would probably be a 3.08
348 with the manual trans commonly used a 3.36

3.36 was pretty common with all small block transmissions

4.11 was used in any car that came with overdrive

68 came with 10 or 12-Bolt rears.
8.2" 10-Bolt, 28-Spline Axles, Casting # 3866166
8.875" 12-Bolt, 30-Spline Axles, Casting #3917879

Those #s are the Housing casting Numbers.
There should be an Axle code on stamped on the passeger side Axle Tube.

If the gears have been changed this wont help either.

If it's an Open Diff, jack up one wheel, rotate 2 revolutions & count the number of Driveshaft revolutions.
If it's a Posi Diff, jack up both wheels, rotate 1 rev, count DS revs.
3-3/4 turns = 3.73 etc......
