What gun to get?

I am getting stuff together for my first attempt at painting a car. I have read all the threads about the Harbor Freights gun, and it sounds good, but it doesn't sound like anyone has found another tip for it to use for painting primer.

I don't want to buy junk, but I currently see no other cars needing painting in my near future, .... maybe a trailer frame or two, but nothing worth getting a high dollar gun for.

I also plan on doing the jambs and some interior stuff, so a detail gun would probably be nice.

Anyone have any suggestions on a inexpensive but reasonable primer gun, and detail gun? Anybody tried this setup from Eastwood http://www.eastwood.com/shopping/pro...roductID=10820
It has two tips which would keep me from having to get two guns.

Any suggestions welcome.

I had the same thoughts. I have purchased the Sharpe HPLV gun's (FINEX models)regular size and mini at a price of approx $275.00. Right now in my project all I am doing is spraying primer(PPG DPLF) and PPG KT-36 at later date on this project. However, if both guns are still in good shape (probably 2 or 3 years down the road) I will not hesitate to spray the final color/clear. I had a IWATA(purchased in 82) I used it for both primer and color on several paint jobs, just recently retired the ole girl. I am not a expert by any means, just providing my trials and tribulations. My final call will be on the results of the test pattern I shoot on the color day........seeeeeeems so far away. Hopefully some of the professional's will provide the reasons for not using the same guns.....Blaster
