The board uses an internal timer to determine what is considered "recent" to each user. It probably reset the timer for you, so you only saw a few posts.

It can't be reset. You should be able to use the envelope graphics in each of the individual forums to determine more accurately which posts are new to you.

Troy,

Have a look at this discussion, which explains the envelope graphics a little better. Let me know if you have any questions.

Jon;

I read your last post several times. The only place I found the envelope icons at the bottom of the page was on the bulleton board, But I did`t see any thing that I could change. I`m using the white background and really like it, will it mess up the timing on how long the recent posts stay on?

Woundn`t it be better if that happened at midnight? Or 3;00 in the morn.

It`s pretty frustrating with no recent post all afternoon.

Do you think it will repair it self.

Troy,

The next step is to adjust some of your browser settings, such as your cache settings, your security settings, and your cookie settings.

I just don`t understand this thing.Guess I`ll just live with it. Thanks;

Jon, the white background did it

Jon;

I don`t know what happened, I came in from the shop this eve. clicked my lil mouse, bulletin board jumped up black, view recent post black. Everything else stayed white.

There was 126 view recent post, and everything was centered on the screen. I like the white board real well, but if that was my problem I guess I`ll stay black.

On the white board I never had over 10-20 post. and the board was about 2 inches to wide.

Can the white board be fixed?

Jon;

I just sent a post to you about the black and white boards. When I posted it I went straight to the bulletin board, It was white again, clicked view recent post,white. And there was just 8 post. So something is wrong with the white board.

Troy.

The black board has more customizations, including the "Daily Active Topics" link on the main page, even after you've logged in. The white board is more standard, and does not include this custom feature.

I suspect that the reason the "view new posts" link is expiring for you is due to your cookie, security, or cache settings on your browser, especially since nobody else has reported anything similar.

Troy,

I've also added a link to the daily topics to the line of links on every page. If the new posts link gives you trouble, you can always use the daily topics link (see pic below).
