Post what happens?

what happens if i take of my air cleaner? does this affect the way the car drives--I am guessing it does but i just want to know why

you may have a little more power....but without a filter to catch the dust particles, you will ruin your engine in no time. Dont do it! <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />

An air cleaner also doubles as a flame arrestor. Should your engine backfire, the air cleaner will prevent the flames from setting your engine on fire. Without an air cleaner raw gasoline will be spewed onto your engine if your engine backfires. A fire will ensue. If you like the growling noise made when you stomp on the accelerator, flip the metal top over and put it on upside down. The air cleaner will still function and you will get the growling sound.

Many aftermarket air cleaners actually HELP to straighten the airflow into the carb.! This coupled with a quality filter (K=N, Accel, etc.)will usually result in better performance than no breather at all! Not to mention stoping the foriegn particles covered above!
