Question What Headers-'36 Ford?

I just purchased a 36 Ford pickup. It has a 305 Chevy small block. It has stock exhaust manifolds now. I want to install headers (chrome or ceramic coated). How do I know what to get that will fit? HELP!

Thanks in advance
Strick

use name/year of truck in subject to attract people who own those, that's the only ones who will know as it depends totally on how much room you have and what's in the way. good luck

I have had headers on 3 cars and have had nothing but trouble on all 3 cars. I think you would be better off with the stock exhaust manifold, duel exhaust, and low restrictive mufflers. You will only loose a small amount of top end performance, but you will have a lot less troubles.

If you still want the headers, you can contact Sanderson Headers. Contact them by mail or phone, they do not answer their E mail. They specialize in making headers for street rods and specialty vehicles and can probably tell you what would work on your vehicle.

If that doesn't work I would go to some car shows to see if anyone there has a truck similar to yours that you could look at.

Thanks for the repsonses. The existing manifolds are Ram's Horn type, so they are about the best I can get given they are manifolds.

For anyone interested, Hedman makes a header for this application, Part #68506. I am assuming these are Ceramic coated.
