what heads would be better
 
Trying to get my project on the road but am confused just gettin in to this..so ive got a 454 cast#(10069286 or 10068286) i cant make out the 5th number the heads it has are cast#14081045 and they have a plaque stating they are remanufactured by GM but i also have some heads off a 396 cast #3909802 I was hoping i culd get some advise on wich ones i shuld use

Id like to be able to drive it daily if needed..looking for about 450hp

Neither set flows great, just mediocre heads. The 396 heads have smaller chambers (109 cc) this would add compression, but require the large, hard to obtain "N" series plugs and won't last on modern fuel without hard seats.

Big blocks need to breath to make power.

What kind of budget ? What is it going in? Inteded use?

first thank u for the feedbak:)ive got about 1k to spend but i also wanted to get a nice cam for it its going on a 69 chevelle i want it for street/(strip every once in a while...)i have a weiand high rise intake and 800 demon carb already and im going to back it up with a 200r4
