What the heck am I to do with this....

I want to undercoat my car while it is on the rotissere, later do the trunk and inside the doors and fenders while I have them off....

What are you guys using for this ? Chasis Saver, POR 15,

I am going to paint the car but will not be painting the underside just because of the climate and road conditions I live in, need something tough.

Maybe I don't need to spray inside the doors ? To be honest I am not really sure what to undercoat and what is overkill ?

Thanks for the help.

undercoat....

Hi,i would NOT use asphalt based undercoating. i have seen it crack, and the salt (or water) gets between it and the metal, and rusts anyhow. i would blast the metal, and paint it with 2 or 3 coats of exoxy primer. then have the car undercoated using ZIEBART or RUSTY JONES undercoat. those companys give a good guarantee against rust.

Does no one spray inside the doors and fenders with a rust inhibitor product these days ?

I heard Chasis Saver is a good product in the defense against rust ?

I primed , scuffed and sprayed truck bed liner on my 69 firebird. On the wheel house and a few other areas I sprayed rubberized undercoating on top of the bedliner for the "look" . It was recomended by the guys on another forum as itrs very durable. It seems to work pretty well so far (i haven't driven it yet) but I sprayed it over a year ago and its stuck pretty well.

In the doors I used rust bullet and then rubberized spay undercoating making sure to not plug the drains in the door.
