what if I don't connect the TCC ??? + speedo ???

FIRST QUESTION

I just finished swapping a carburated 350 with a 700R4 into a '93 silverado, runs great! better than the original TBI engine.

I have not wired the tranny yet to make the TCC work, but I feel it working very good as is now, this truck will very seldom see highway usage so I feel I will not need it to improve millage, But is it necesary for the tranny to work properly?

SECOND QUESTION

I installed the tone ring from the original 4L60E on the output shaft of the 700R4 to make the speedo work, it's working now fine, I kept the ECM to make it work but I removed today the fuse that powers the ECM and the speedo is still working..???? what is the matter here? is that the speedo is not driven by the ECM??? can I just remove it ( I can use it in other project ) and keep the speedo working??

please help

thanks

Augusto.
