What if my spark plug look like this?
I just got my truck out for a test drive after putting in the roller tip rockers and adjusting the carb. It ran fine but seemed like it had an occational rattle at slow speed under load so I backed off the timing 3 degrees. I was at 16 initall. I pulled 2 plugs to see how I was doing in the richness department since it seem to use a lot of gas on my 50 mile run. One side of the plug was tan and the other side was black. I checked 2 plugs and they were the same. I cut the tips of the plugs so that they were in line with the center of the electrod before I started all the upgrades and it has not been a problem. This is probably why people index their plugs. Seem like it is burning better on one side than the other. Any suggestions for getting a cleaner burn?
