what if paint question

Has anyone ever considered using the Eastwood Companies chassis black paint as a top coat. It is chip resistance, impervious to brake and gas fluids. It comes in a satin and a gloss, thinking of this as an alternative to the JD black. Any comment or information, go , no go ?

the paint in question is for frames,i have used it and it works well for what its made for!!,frames.why dont you get onmi paint and put hardner in it and spray on the outside of the body!if thats what i think you want to do?(right!),onmi is a good brand but not top of the line and its relatively low cost.

That was something I was looking for in the literature. Guess I will just give eastwood a call, they are helpful. The UV thing was a consideration. Just though i would put the question up and see what came back. After all this is the place I read about roller painting a car, so I'm figuring someone has tried this.

did you search in here ? i was reading a good while back, that much of the chassis stuff is not UV rated. and would look crappy in a short while of direct sunlight.

did some more research and the paint, it is UV resistant, evo friendly, high solids, comes in aerosol, for the painter without a gun. I figure if some are willing to go the rustoleum route this could be another avenue. Satin finish 60-70% gloss , Gloss finish 85% gloss. This could be a new hotrod black. I am thinking of getting a can and spraying my trailer that sits in the Sun year round, but i will most likely be painting my project before a good test of the finish could be accomplished. So if anyone out here has any experience with this product I would like to read their opinion
