600 is a lot for plane rebuilt heads. rebuilt with some bowl work and good valves and springs would be a good deal. I have ported #5's on my 72 Cutlass. Ported properly they put any OEM SBC head to shame on flow, the chambers aren't as good as Vortec's of course.
