what junk yard radio

I need to get a better radio. What should I look for at the junkyard. Should I get the speakers that go with it?

if your looking for a newer radio, find an aftermarket.. if your looking for somthing retro, stay away from Motorola units because lots of them used 20 ohm speakers, which are hard to find.. you want between 6- 8 ohm for modern speakers to work. Delco radios are a good place to look for them.. most any has a wiring diagram on the top
