re rear end problem

You stated that you wanted more top end and quarter mile speed. You can't have the best of both. You need a lower gear for quarter mile speed, like 4:11 or 4:10. For top end you probably need something like 3:55. Just to give you and Idea, my 70 model ford truck has 3:73 and at top speed of 140 mph, I am turning about 5400 rpms. I have a good take off and a good top end, so I will stick with the 3:73s. You can install a good stall converter, like 2400, and this will give you the take off and the quarter mile power, assuming that you have a good power engine behind it. Hope this helps.
