what order to paint?

i am going to paint my 72 GMC 1/2 ton i want to paint it satin black with pearl white flames, should i paint it pearl white, clear it then mask of the flames then paint the satin black? or am i completely backwards? please help

Always try to paint your light colors first and paint the darker ones on top.

Which ever way will be tough cause of the transition between satin and clear coat white.
What kinds of paint for each?

If the 2 paint systems will "mix" then White flame area blending out,mask flames,back tape that edge for a "jamb" type transition area,aka soft edge, Satin,then pinstripe the transition to hide it.
