Nope....because the Trans=ams and Camaros have that torque bar thingy. The other rears don't have mounting holes for it.

81 was last year of the leaf spring GenII chassis. There is still no othr rear that will just bolt in except maybe an early GenI but that piece is about 2 inches narrower than your existing rear. You can get a posi and gear put in your housing for about 800-900.

Sorry...you said 81......I was thinking Gen 3.......82 and up.
Something out of a Nova should also fit your car...although most of them had those gears too......unless you get an older one....pre 73

what other rearend wold fit?
What could I bolt under an 1982 (big) jimmy with a 3.73, prefer pois. or limited slip or all wheel drive rearend. thanks
