What rear end do I have?
My 1991 S-10 stock trk has 4 wheel drive, came w/trk! what rear end is in it vs non 4 wheel dr? Thanks, Dana

The 4X4 rear end is about 4 inches wider than the 2wd rear end. Somewhere in the early '90s they started putting the 8.5 rear end in some S trucks. The ZR2 got the 8.5 and many of the 4.3 5 speed trucks got the 8.5.
If you have the G80 locking differential then this will be the Governor Lock. This is the only limited slip differential that was used in the S trucks, 4X4 or 2wd.
