the 8.8 explorer (drum brake) is about 1.5" wider than stock (I think thats what I remember)

the biggest problem with the explorer rear, is an off-set pinion
super tough and easy to find, and find parts for
but it does have the 5 on 4.5 ford bolt pattern
however you can just make your front end ford also

unless you (or your wife) have your heart set on a specific chevy wheel

I will measure both rears and make sure on the width
