What rearend ratio and stall?

71 c10 weekend cruiser/highway NO drag strip with a 468 bbc and built th350 tarnny. Looking for some advice on what stall and if I need to change the rear gear I'm pretty sure (will know soon) the truck has 3.08 gears just wondering if I should change to a lower gear when I install the eaton posi? I am running a 30 inch rear tire also... Here are some specs...

Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 1" spacer, HEI distributor, MSD plug wires, fully rebuilt heads with new valve springs, new seals,10 degree locks, retainers and lash caps, stainless steel valves (2.25I 1.88E), full roller rockers, JoMar stud girdles, new Comp Cams xm 278h-565 lift-234/244 dur @ .50 , forged SpeedPro pistons, ARP main studs, new rings, flowtech headers.

ALL suggestions/advice wanted!!!...Thanks

3.73's would make for better acceleration but may tmake highway rpm higher than you'd like. I would go with a simple 2000 stall.

3.73's and a 11" 2800stall converter.

Or the tighter low stall version of the B&M 10" holeshot B&M pn 20413
This converter is very street friendly behind a BBC.

Ditto, what I was thinking. The 30" tires would be ok on the Highway with 3.73's.

yes, with that motor and trans i would go to a 2:73 for cruising
you might actually be able to afford to drive it with that gear

With me using the Eaton posi it looks like 3.42 is the breaking point then I have to go to 3.73. What brand gear should I use or stay away from I had motive gear recommended to me any others?
