What SBC is this? Can't find the vin online for this block.

I'm about to buy a S10 tomorrow, the motor sounds strong. But I can't find any info on it.

The front by the water pump is stamped V0829CMJ and 15B409826

I couldn't see the back of the block. Was told its from a 69 Camaro, kinda have my doubts.

Any info will help, thanks Hotrodders

If you navigate the site Rich posted, code CMJ is either a 1974 350 full size/police, OR a 1980 305 full size/Camaro.

The other numbers you list appear to be VIN format, 1=Chevrolet, 5=1975(?), B=Baltimore plant, 09826 partial vehicle VIN. That throws everything off...look for a cast date code.

Man you were quick to decode that. I'm still figuring it out.

Main thing I wanted to be sure is if its a 350. And it seems to be. I might be buying the truck tomorrow. 84' S10, gutted interior (except dash), gauges, racing seat and harness, battery and cell in the back. 350 with worked 882 heads 1.94 and flat top pistons, wmws1 cam .504 lift 287 duration, victor jr intake and edelbrock 750 (but I'm going to put a 650DP)

Stock Th3500 w 3800 stall converter. 10 bolt rear with 3.73 and Lincolnlocker. That's the first thing to get replaced. But for $1600 is that a good deal? My first drag car. If it will run 13.5 ill be happy.
