hi, i am streetrodding a 30 ford coupe. does anyone know what seats will fit this car? it is small and narrow inside. i was told the shorter bench seat from the middle of a caravan would fit, but they seem too wide. i like the bench seat better, but will use buckets if i have to. i would appreciate any help. thanks!!!!!! mike
Arm yourself with a sketch and a tape measure and make it down to your local "pickapart" junk yard.
If the short van seat is closest you can modify it length-wise without too much trouble and still keep it's good upholstery for awhile if you want.
i used a seat out of a 73-79 ford pickup in my 30 model a coupe. just remove seat cover and foam, cut metal frame and weld. cut same amount out of foam, glue together. a electric carving knife works perfect for cutting foam. the completed seat can be made in less than an hour , and works perfect. hope this might help.
I used buckets seats out of a 78 Chevy van in my 31 coupe. They touch in the center so it looks like a bench seat. You have to make your own mounts but these seats are low back so they don't block the back window. I hope this helps
Just got a set of Mazda Miata buckets for my 1931 coupe project. They fit across just fine but I am going to have to raise them up from the floor. Been told Scats fit also and school bus seats work. The middle seat from a carvan work. Measure higher up than floor. You find a little more width. I believe anything 40" or less will work.
I used a set of TR3 or may be it was a TR4 (one or the other) they came out of a roadster and they were Black Leather and pleated with a Red piping they were very nice and looked really good.
