what should be a good brake line pressure

I still have issues with my Ford Expedition taking forever to stop, have already done mostly everything, I'm thinking of measuring the fluid pressure at the calipers front and rear to make sure they are getting enough pressure, I suspect they are not.

what pressure should I expect? I read somewhere that 1.200 psi should be enough, is this true?
