What should I gap the plugs?

I have a 383 ci, 11.5:1 static compression, MSD AL-6 ignition, MSD timing control, MSD distributor and MSD blaster 2 coil. What should I gap the plugs for nitrous and without nitrous? The plugs I have are Autolite Racing AR134 coppercore plugs. Thanks!

MSD's recommendation's start at .050 gap, increasing, .005 each time, for fine tuning, to a maximum of .065 gap. Without Nitrous, I start my gap at .055, and with Nitrous I start my gap at .045.

Savvy,

Thanks for the reply.

I forgot to mention that I am using Autolite Racing plugs: AR-134 with the cut back ground electrode if that makes any differences.

Also in normal driving the plugs are probably too cold as they foul easily.

I have found those plugs work best with the Nitrous around here. Change to a hotter plug, or try an extended ground plug, and make some adjustments to the gap on test runs.

Engines with extreme power adders such as NOS, Blowers and Turbo's will blow out the spark due to the massive turbulence in the cylinder.
Be extremely careful if you decide to try a fine-wire plug design, as the detonation the engine will see throughout the power band can break off the ground strap.
Regarding the proper gap, it should be .022 - .028 depending on the variables in the engine combination and power levels.
I would recommend a Champion #679 ( V59C ) race plug which should perform on the street and at the strip with the NOS.
