Just throwing this out there.
A friend of mine had an original 55 F-100 seat redone recently. They covered it with vinyl, but added some nice stitching patterns where the driver and passenger sit. They added some side bolstering (sp?). They added some padding to the front edge of the seat. They also added a fold down center arm rest w/cup holders. It is the original seat to his truck, but looks awesome.
The folding arm rest was a really nice touch on an old seat. I think they got it from a junk later model and incorporated it into it.
