What size engine was stock on a 1947 Dodge

Im sure you all have seen my posts asking about engines for my car. Sorry if this is getting to be redundant however I am trying to figure out as much as I can before I start messing things up. I was just curious if anyone on the forums know what size came in these cars brand new? again its a 1947 Dodge Deluxe D24 series 4door sedan.

ok thanks, I have been lookin around online for an answer and not coming up with much except a 6cylinder. Since the person that had the car before me really did a number on the car by putting in the engine it has in it I want to try and find something close to what was originally in it because I know that will fit. May have to move some things around after their hack job. I dont need anything to fast. I mainly just wanna cruise in this car not win races

Small block Chevy fits vry well and is an economical alternative to finding/rebuilding a MoPar flathead six.

Thank you for that! the second chance garage was helpful. but the other one not so much yet. It has secret questions in the registration that I cant seem to answer correctly. One is the firing order of a mopar flathead 6, which i put 153624, and the other is what does a club coupe have that a business coupe is missing. i put 4 doors, back seat, rear seat, smaller trunk, and nothing. they give a hint and that hint is its two words. any ideas anyone? lol

A Dodge club coupe has quarter windows/side windows behind the doors. A business coupe does not..

That's crazy. Didn't have that when I registered, IIRC. Hopefully "side windows" will do it.

They must be getting ate up w/spammers- same way we have been over at the Crankshaft Coalition wiki Fortunately it's nothing that's seen when anyone visits there- we kill it immediately.
