HI, I have a 71 chevelle and I need a set of tires for it. It has 14'' rims and tires on it, but I have a set of 15x8 ralley wheels i want to put on it. I don't have tires on the wheels and I don't know what size to use, none of the tire places know either. What size tire is stock with the 15x8 chevelle wheels? and what's the largest width tire I can run on the back? thanks for any info -chris

If I am not mistaken the largest tire that will fit in the rear wheelwell without modifying it would be a width of 305.
Not sure if they will work on your rims though.

Having just looked at some this weekend, some had F70x15 repops and some had 245.60x15 radials. On Magnum 500 wheels.

One 72 had 265.60x15 on the rear and 225.70x15 on the front. I thought the rears looked to tall. Extra wide Magnum 500 wheels.

Width is determined by the wheel width and offset/backspacing. I can't guess.
