What suspension will I need for my 1953

I would like to put a 6.0 turbo diesel into my 53 ford pick up, but am concerned about what suspension I will need to hold the weight and power of the diesel. The flat head v8 runs but, I'm trying to decide if I should use the 6.0 or restore it to original. Would prefer to build hotrod, but top concern is safety. You opinions are welcomed.

The early Ford trucks are popular and their are plenty of companies making aftermarket parts for them as well as sites dedicated to hot rodding them. The suspension and brakes would most likely be your easiest chore. Adapting all the electrical and mechanical hardware associated with the turbo diesel to work in the truck will be your most daunting task. Unless you know your way around those systems very well, you might want to pass on the 6.0 and either restore it or use a more user friendly carburated gas burner in it.

1953 Ford pick ups have lots of room for a 6.0 diesel and transmission. The brakes are of the improved self energizing type so they are good too. The main issues will be, like stated above, the wiring.

A wrecked truck to be a donor would be best case. All the little stuff drives to cost up and drives you crazy too......
