What is this thing?

I know it's a seat, but what's it out of? A car, truck or tractor? We pulled out of the weeds while working on a house in The Dalles Oregon. It look's like an automotive application but I'm not sure. I'd really like to know. Thanks!

You would think an airplane seat would be made of aluminum, this is all steel with a cast iron base.

My guess would be some type of farm machinery, where a guy could sit on the equipment being used and make adjustments and watch the equipment to be sure it's working properly, maybe a land leveler, hay baler, etc. cool find!

Looks a lot like the seat that was in a 1957 210 International truck tractor we used to have. The bottom cushion was as high as the top of the side rails and the back the same. If you got out of the center of the seat, those rails would bust your tail every bump.

Could be a truck seat. I was thinking of fixing it up and using it on the deck, would make a nice conversation piece.

Maybe it belongs to D.B. Cooper. Wasn't that the area he jumped out the plane?

Actually, I'm voting for a tractor seat.

definetly looks to heavy for an airplane.
Looks like some kind of adjustment you can make while seated? Maybe it had a spring mechanism for an adjustable seat cushion? I have seen some weird but igenuis designs on old farm equip.
Im sure some will recognise it soon
