What is this thing?
For sometime now there has been this pump like thing under my hood that I never paid much attention to until now. I was replacing my blown headgasket and started to wonder what its hooked up to and if I need it or not. Its on a 86 chevy truck, I unhooked the computer and got rid of the the smog stuff, I think this may have something to do with the smog but I wanted to make sure before I tore it out.
Its the circled thing, Its kinda like a pump of some sort, Its soft and rubbery on one side and I can push it in and it slowly pops back into shape. Brad |

Thanks guys I completly forgot that the truck had cruise control at one time. It stopped working a long time ago and I was gonna replace it with an aftermarket cruise control sometime. Do you think I should just take it out or will it be needed for the aftermarket cruise control? Thanks again

You won't need it. Keep it around just in case. Always nice to have spare parts layin around.
