Post what tools do i need?

hi. i need to replace the gears/bearings on my rearend - a dana 44 on my '64 gmc truck. I'm wondering what tools i might need to do this - to decide if its worth the cost for me vs. paying someone else to do it. Also any opinions about whether i'm getting in over my head. I'm new to working on vehicles, but i work with tools everyday - so I don't know which way i should go. In general i like working on the truck a lot, but is this just too much of a pain to attempt myself?

thanks.

Rebuilding a rearend is a job for a pro. Bearings and gears are expensive and improperly assembled units self destruct if not correct. It takes mics and dial indicators, shim assortments, and total understanding of the adjustments it takes to eliminate "heel" and "toe" mesh patterns on the ring and pinion engagement.
