What top end combo?

Well this is what I got I have a 77 chevy truck with a 350 bored 60 over. Stock rods. 350 trubo trans. This is my problem I build the engine about 2 years ago. Its got the cast truck heads on it, single plane intake and a 650 carb. I went to the shop and ask what cam would they use. The guy ask what it was going in. And he said "thats a lead slead." So I dont know what cam he stuck me with but the way it runs I could out pull a bull dozer. Sounds good but no speed.

OK now for what I am asking I am looking for a top end combo. Heads cam lifers and intake you know the normal. price about 1400 to 2400. something like that. the 350 has a 11:1 compression ratio I think. I want something thats going to kick down like a car. the truck has a 2300 or 2500 stall also.

If you have $2400 to spend I would go with this combonation. It is in my opinion the best bang for the buck.

AFR 180cc heads $1460
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=26569

Performer RPM air gap intake $132
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...1937&langId=-1

Comp Roller cam XR276HR or XR282HR $ 246 (not xr676hr like on the website, it is a misprint)
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...hItemId=107199

Comp roller lifters $415 (not positive these are the correct ones, you would have to check, price will be similar though)
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...chItemId=33233

Total:$2253

Look at the second 355 on the site below it has the XR282HR in it and makes 450 hp @ 5500 RPM and 470 tq @ 4500 RPM the XR282HR would probably work well, it is recommended that a 2000 stall is used with it, so you should be ok with yours. The smaller one would just give you a little more low end power.

Yours would just make more hp, but the one I was talking about was one of the two with 9.5:1 compression. It is the second one below the one with the dyno graph.

How do you figure 11.1 cr? Your running pump gas @ 11.1 cr? Something does not add up.

In order to know your compression, we need the following:

we already know your cylinder diameter and stroke
combustion chamber size (cc's)
piston dome or dish (could be a flat top) (cc's)
distance piston is in the hole (in)
head gasket thickness(in)

You can then use this formula
