What transmissin do I have?
Help,
I just pulled a T10 4 speed out of my attic that I have been holding on to since 1974. I want to rebuild it to use it in my 34 pickup project. I'm building a rod from parts laying around from many years of playing with old cars. Any way there are very few numbers on the case. Hope fully one of you savvy transmission guys can help me out. I did try a Google search... but came up with very generic info and nothing that described my trans. Here goes... Main case has these letters and numbers as follows: T10-1B WG DIV 0.1 C-12-62 The tail housing has T10-73 WG DIV 4-25-62 The main gear case is not alum. and it has a 10 spline input shaft. It bolts up to my chevy bell housing and came out of (not stock) 71 Chevelle in 1974. I'm guessing that it was built in April 1962 and the WG might mean Warner Gear? I can take pictures if that helps. Anyone know what I have? |

www.dandltransmission.com has ID & ratio info for several types of 4-speeds, including BW. If the site doesn't help you, try emailing them.

Thanks Jimfulco,
I saved the link. Looks like i have a 1962 (early) T10 with wide ratio gears, since it does have one grove in the input spline. I have found several source's for rebuild kits... soon to be rebuilt and in my street rod. Next quest... finding a shifter that fits this trans and my pickup! |
