What type differential is this?
This is a first for me, seeing a spring loaded diff.. can anyone help me? I haven't turned a wrench in 25 years.
Just an old fart with time on my hands. I was told when I bought the truck it had a 411 gear. Unfortunately the math adds up to 373 gear.

There are many limited slip differentials that have springs in them. The most popular one is the Eaton Posi. I can't say for sure what yours is, but I believe it's an early version of the Eaton Posi. I have seen many pictures of those, but I have never had one in my shop. I have only seen them in '60s GM truck 12 bolt rear ends.
