what type of trans in 1988 GMC Jimmy??

I'm in the process of trying to buy a 1988 GMC Jimmy with the 4.3 liter v6 and auto trans its a 2 wheel drive 2 door, it wont go into overdrive....??? I was wondering if anybody knew what type of transmission this was??? 200R-4? 700R-4??
