Last week, I painted the bumpers on my '02 Inferno red, PT Cruiser. I followed all the correct porcedures as outlined by PPG.
1. adhesive promoter
2. 2 coats of urethane, Valspar, primers
3. 2 coats PPG, inferno red
4. 2 coats of PPG urethane clear
all flash times were observed and the bumpers were washed with a wax and grease removers before starting and again after priming.
Now, the problem, as soon as I started to apply the color coat to the rear bumper, the front was done, the primer blistered up on both ends of the bumper and in the license plate area. I let it rets for a few minutes while I collected my wits. I scrapped the blistered area, let it dry, resended and repainted and the final results is fine. But what happened??
