Well, I haven't gotten an answer for you on why the back of the Cragar wheel would say "Made in China" on it. Every time I open a Carlisle product (Unique, Pacer, Cragar, etc) it was clearly etched into the wheel, "Made in U.S.A." I will concede and say that all of Carlisle tire products are made in China (Or other countries besides the U.S). Even the Carlisle trailer tires are made by Dunlop in a Chinese plant. But having a Cragar wheel say "Made in China" on it (I also find it odd that a company would much less stock a niche product. But that's a different topic) strikes me as odd.

But even so, a company can set the quality standards no matter where the product is manufactured. If they set them low, then the manufacturing facilities will follow suit.

Maybe earlier wheels, but the current new wheels that I saw in our local Goodyear store last week clearly stated on the back of one of the spokes "made in China".
