I got a cheesy 5 pc cast steel flare nut wrench set (spreads instantly under torque) individually sandwiched in 8 inch pieces of 2"X4" with chiselled out pockets for each wrench. These five two piece lumber bundles were in turn construction adhesive glued and nailed together with long framing nails toenailed over...12 nails per stick. Yea hilarious.

Took me about 30 minutes to get them all out with the axe and after I opened them I thought the fireplace would have been the better place. After the first bleeding knuckle (absolutely the cheapest Taiwanese white metal construction) I only use them as impromtu wheel chocks for the engine stand now.

Ah yes! Christmas, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Dec 25, 1967, I was deep in the jungles of South Vietnam. The Chaplin came out to the field. He blessed us and gave us a pep talk and a gift from the real world(USA). I got a can of SPAM! To some people that would really suck, but WOW it was great. I also got a letter from a female friend with a packet of Bugs Bunny cherry koolaide in it. The Koolaide would cover up the taste of muddy water. I still eat SPAM today and like it, but have no desire for Koolaide!

Well.. my late mom.. bless her heart.. got me a bottle of shampoo one xmas cuzz she didn't like the woman I was with. At least it was wrapped and I did have long hair at the time.

My buddy once got a nice wrapped gift that he opened and found a piece of paper that said "one air compressor". He bought an air compressor in October and apparently that was going to be his xmas present. He forgot but his wife didn't.

My brother always buys gifts from the clearance centres. Apparently he thinks that because the store puts 3 rolls of packing tape on the box all the parts are there. Never happens.

Back in the 80s when we had gift exchanges at work I got a smoked salmon.

One year a Friend of mine's mom gave me two Pat Conroy books (very boring writer read one you have his basic story out line) the next time she was over to the house she borrowed them back, and I never saw them again.
When I was in grade school we used to do the whole exchange gifts thing I would go find the neatest thing my folks could afford and I always got a jig saw puzzle. To this day I can't stand jigsaw puzzles!!!

The worst one I got was a plaid flannel shirt, from my mother in law in 1986. To make it real bad she got everybody that worked for them that year the same shirt. Then we all showed up for work the next week in them. lol
