What Are You Doing This Summer?

I was think about this the other day and had no real plan. Well a trip to Colorado that the wife planed. I have been helping my son with his first ride. Yes its a truck What else. We have the cab almost done new carpet. everything is done in a desert sand color with black accents. The truck is going to have a 3"-6" drop painted Black chrome 18" rims and a custom cover for the bed it got a GM crate motor in it but it smokes a little on start up so I'm thinking new valve guides. Hope we have it done for his last year of high school.
I'm still farting around with my stuff not much progress this year. I got a couple more month before it get to hot to work out side then I will have to hide in my garage with the air on tell the end of October. I'm hoping I can get my 1 ton in to the garage It's got a nice 454 oval port heads and th400. It took me a year to clean all the mud and rust from the frame and cab. It was a Tennessee truck end up in Georgia Then some how made it way into Arizona moving single wide Mobile homes. I found a speed shop card from Georgia in the truck so I'm think it may have had some work done on it.

I already took vacation (trip to Caribbean) so now I gotta get to work. I hope to have the Divco hot rod ice cream truck done by June then sell ice cream novelties at car shows and other events for the summer. I also need to finish my sons 69 Mustang 5.0L HO installation. Rebuilt engine and AOD trans and I just finished building a custom EFI harness a few weeks ago. Now its all the details to get it running.

Joe... maybe I'll see you at a car show of two. I plan on doing shows from SF to LA.

I'm taking my vacation here in a couple weeks to TN for the truck show.

Other than that, I'm doing as little as possible and staying out of trouble. [School, work..boring stuff.]

I have a problem with spending money, so i figure the only way i'll be able to save any of it this summer is if i work to the point of not having any time to spend it.

It's bitter sweet.

but mostly bitter.

and will leave me a little sour

Summer is ski season, so I'll be at the lake after work 3-4 days a week. That leaves Thursday for grass cutting, Saturday for Car stuff with the occasional Car show or cruise-in. Sunday is relax by the pool all day, if I don't sneak back to the lake. That's my typical summer. Not much gets done on the cars in the Summer.

Here's my other baby. 320 HP, 0-36 mph in 120 feet.

Going on another road trip. This time out thru the bottom of California and along the bottom of the states dipping into Mexico and back up thru Texas into Arkanas for two family reunions. Between the two reunions we are going to go up to St Louis. Hope to catch a game at Busch statium.

What Are You Doing This Summer?

Lots of yard work, siding the wife's greenhouse and house remodeling. Finish wiring, insulating and paneling the garage, tearing apart my donor car, building a rolling frame for my hot rod. As well a trip to Edmonton, Calgary, Taber to visit family. Thank heaven I have the summer off.
