I forgot about that great shag carpet. I could not wait to get it placed on the panel under the back window. I also remember our six cyl. burn outs. My friend also had a 1956 chevy with a six cyl. We would try to out do each other burning out. Only thing was we could only do it in reverse up a slight grade.

1976 Pontiac Grand Prix. 400 with the quadrajet. You know the breather top was flipped upside down. I still miss that sound, no modern cars induction noise could ever beat that!

Mine was a '62 impala, similar to the one below. It had kinda cool wire wheel hubcaps 3 that matched and one that didn't
It had a 273 with a 2 speed powerglide.
It was a dog.
To make it go, I used to rev it up in neutral, and drop it into gear.

Buggered up the transmission, real good.

The transmission guy was an old school character. He says "You shift gears a lot, don't you?"
Then he says "I won't tell your dad, but maybe you should put a floor shifter, in it. You can play with that, and leave the one on the column alone!"

1979 Chevrolet Malibu Classic 2 door. Was in good shape. The paint was 2 tone and awful ugly, green bottom and creamy green top.
I miss that car.

late 60s VW bug, had it before i even had my license.

but the car i drove all through high school, this was the one i remember, was a 71 pontiac ventura hatchback.

it had appliance steel five spoke wheels on one side and ET alum five hole dish mags on the other side.

you can only see one side of the car at a time, right?
someone would ask me if i got new wheels once a week

1955 Plymouth. Automatic with the shifter on the dash. Photo taken 1960 when I was 15. Dig the eagle beak haircut.
