want to try a Holley carb, another set of heads with 1.6 roller rockers, 28-spline posi with moser axles, and a few other things come spring time.
My wife drives a '81 Malibu wagon with 305, stock cam, 1.6 rockers, Holley carb with a TH350 and a 2.2x rear - ok, it's slow - but better than the smoking 267 that was in there.
To drive back n' forth to work, I drive a completely stock '97 Merc Mountaineer with AWD and a 5.0L engine. Good for visiting my parents cottage up north in the middle of winter.

I guess so, but ironically, my favorite street car was my 1972 Ventura with a 10:1 vortec headed 355 with the XE268H cam and a stock stall. It was really snappy, not the fastest of the cars, if fact probably the slowest, but it was a blast stoplight to stoplight it also had a 700R4 and a 3.90 gear with a posi so that helped the quickness. Unfortunately, I pulled out in front of a car going 60 and totaled it; my fault. By the way, have you had your truck to the track?
