What's 9" differential swap meet value?

I've about lost touch with the used market and am kind of curious as to the value of a used Ford 9" differential. I'm doing some swap meet crawls over the next month or two and am going to be looking for a complete 3.50 - 3.70 and maybe as high numerically as 3.89 plus open, 28 spline. I wont need a locker or 'N' case either as my car isn't raced nor very high horsepower. I can regear my current case and may, but want to look at the alternatives.

As always, thanks for any inputs

I'll bet I can get a whole truck 9" for a 100.00
I know where one is at..
I'm in mass .. don't know if thats to far of a drive.. if not.
I can go see what the whole works is.. most times 75-100 if I pull it..
and pulling a truck 9" is 4 bolts, a sawsall to u bolts and e brake cables/brake lines and out..
cake

About $50 for a rebuildable core.

Dang it, I wished you lived closer (or, vise versa )-I've got a 28 spline, open, 3.50 Gear 9" that I am not going to use-

Good luck, they are out there, I've seen them for well under $250-

Phew!!!. It sounds like they must have gone down in value since my last wanders as I hadn't seen 2.6?/3.0? clunkers a few years ago for less the 3-400 bucks.

As far as that truck rear end - I would bet that's a 31 spline and would need different axle shafts to fit my narrow '57/9 rear end.

If I could find a $50 buck core locally, add a rebuild set of bearings and other parts plus a new set of gears it would end up being a pretty decent choice.

Craig - if you lived closer, we probably would have already made a 'deal' and being the nag that I am, you might even have finished your car

Thanks for the input guys

What part of 'Upstate' are you? PM me if you like. One of my customers is semi retired and has a lot of cores; he may have just what you need. Im right in Syracuse, a few blocks from the old 'Carousel' Mall

Just an FYI vans have the 28 spline open rear ends. Try car-part.com to see if a yard has one..

Keep in mind when you ask someone what's it worth... People normally reply with a value much lower than you can actually sell it for. Go on ebay and craigslist too see what their selling for. Chances are a swap meet will be higher.
