Whats the best circle track engine

Hey guys Me and my brother are building a couple Pure stock circle track cars and I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best engines for are make of cars that we have. The engines must appear to be stock but can be slightly modified but must be able to pull a certain amount of vacume. I do not no the exact specs right now. We are needing to find a Ford, Chevy And Buick engine they must be small blocks. We are just getting started in the circle track stuff Just wondering what your guys opinions was. The engines are going into 1978 firebird, 1965 Ford galaxie, 1965 Buick skylark Thanks

a reliable one, that makes ENOUGH power, 95 % of the time its never an engine that keeps you from running up front, its the chassis, making it work for the driver. Consider the engine to be a black box, plug in punch the button and go, not having to mess with the engine will allow you to tune the chassis, shocks, springs balance, corner weights, tires, chassis set up. This is how you get to the front.

study, prepare to win, tune to win, engineer to win by Caroll smith, understand the dynamics of your chassis
