whats best for a Tranny Cooler?

Is a remote finned alum. transmission cooler adequate means of cooling a 350 turbo transmission? It is not the flat kind it is 15''long and round.I intend to mount it inside the frame back towards the transmission.

They work OK as long as they get plenty of airflow, but they aren't as good as fin and tube coolers. What kind of vehicle? What kind of usage?

transmission cooler

Its a street rod. 1940 Ford Convertable. I use it mostly in the hot summer months. I would like to mount some kind of unit on the frame by the tranny for ease of installation. Unfortunately thats where the exhaust pipes are....common problem. Any suggestions?

I used one like that on a 29 model A pickup, put it right up front between the frame rails. Looks cool up there, I don't have an picws of the installation on this puter, but I believe I have some at home, if so, I'll post them in a while.

I've searched my puter high and low, somehow those pics have been lost. It does keep it cool though.
