Whats the best way to de texture plastics?
I have been doing quite a few plastic parts lately. The customers want the grain smoothed from the plastic & a nice smooth paint job over them.
I have tried a few ways. Firstly sand the grain from the plastic. That was a big mistake because the plastic furs up & it is then a nightmare to prime & make it smooth again.
The second way is the clean the plastic, plastic prime it then followed by 2k primer with flexible addative @ 30% in it. Thats much better but I find I have to re prime 3 times before it is really sweet.
Does flexible additive make the primer less high build? Whats your thoughts guys?
