Whats oil is a good oil for Solid Roller Engine?

Hello everybody,

I just finished my 434 SBC and was wondering what would be a good oil for a soild roller street engine. I had problems with my compcam lifter before so i went to Isky Redzone just don't want to make a bad mistake on useing cheap oil.

oil

fully synthetic, always, all except motors that are near a rebuild ( and new motors not broke in yet, extreme slippyness wont allow rings to seat correctly)

I use Valvoline non synthetic 10W30 motor oil, although I do pour a bottle of EOS in every other oil change. This is in my solid roller big block.I probably change the oil more than is really needed, but this gives me a chance to grease all the fittings, and visually inspect the underneath. So,IMO,changing the oil as often as I do negates the need to use synthetic oil.

Call your cam manufacturer and see what they suggest. You might be surprised.

I run Valvoline Synthetic in everything, except on break in as prviously noted. Then I run Valvoline 10W-30 or straight 30W with Comp Products ZDDP additive.
